Who said health is more important than wealth?
Okay, I hear you shouting out loud, "Of course, health is very important in everyone's life." And, I have seen people saying that they would trade all their wealth for health at any given time. All the self-proclaimed enlightened people, motivational speakers and Godmen would unanimously preach that health should always be prioritized over wealth; Ironically, they make wealth by advocating people not to pursue wealth.
I'd not foolishly say, I would choose wealth over health; Just to stand out. I too recognize the significance of health. But, I wonder why should one pick either wealth or health? Do we not deserve to be both wealthy and healthy or, are we not capable of balancing them both in life? Where did this idea of choosing health over wealth come from?We always want something that we don't have, that's human nature. Likewise, wealthy people give immense importance to health, and that's understandable. But, what surprises me is the unwealthy people voting for health too? Is it because they have realized the importance of health? I'd rather think not.
I was born poor, and I know what poverty is. I remember, as a child whenever I used to ask my parents why we weren't rich, they earnestly said, "Because, we are virtuous." As per them, rich people are always unrighteous, corrupted and earn money in unethical ways. I was raised being told that rich are rich because they are bad, and the poor are poor because they are good. What do you think a poor child, who was told that being rich is bad, will grow up to be? Inevitably, poor.
If you have noticed, the rich people live healthier lives than the poor people, not just because they have money to take care of health, but they make healthier choices. You may not believe this amateur blogger, but check the facts for yourself. Wealthy people are aware of the importance of wealth and health too. Did you ever see a rich parent teaching their kid that wealth isn't important in life? This is the reason why the rich get richer and the poor remain poorer. Yes, some rich people are corrupted, but you don't necessarily need to be corrupted to get rich. Learn the difference.
The poor just use the word "Virtue" as an excuse for not being rich.
The art of living is in balancing your health and wealth. The moment you prioritize one over the other, your life will be miserable.
